About

—Willard Morgan—

I’m a New York born actor and musician.  An ‘entertainer’ if pressed. Growing up, my idols were the likes of Danny Kaye, Sid Caesar, Ernie Kovacs, Peter Sellers... geniuses all. I’ve studied with the masters of the crafts, pantomime Jacques LeCoq, Noh theatre master Sensei Haruta of  Kyoto, Bill Esper, Mark Zeller, Austin Pendleton, Lloyd Williamson, Paul Curtis, Gordon Jacoby. There were many others I’ve corralled over the years.

My mother was a Met Opera semi -finalist almost landing one of the biggest gigs in opera.  She’s my greatest inspiration because she never stopped studying her craft or enlarging her repertoire.   During my days I’ve been a beggar, a troubadour, a murderer, pimp, Charles II and the Reverend Jelvis, the Jewish Elvis, among many other roles.  I loved studying and performing as a mime, a dancer, a busker and wanna-be rock star, riding horses in dressage, jumping fences, and climbing walls. My motorcycle days are thankfully over.  I’ve been called a Silver Fox, the Second Most Interesting Man in the World, And the 'Best Buns' ever to grace a Tommy John underwear commercial, still running on Fox, Bloomberg, CNN and other channels.

I wrote, produced and performed one of the largest collaborations between Cuban and American theatre and musical artists in Havana, Cuba in 2017 and have since performed Vestiphobia from Toronto to Maastricht and New York’s own Dixon Place.  Vestiphobia.org

I’ve performed my original songs and spoken word pieces wherever I found a mike, and a spotlight, an amp, or funky upright.  Songwriters like Tim Minchin, Elvis Costello, Warren Zevon, Emenem, and Gilbert & Sullivan are among my favorites.

My mother, a performer on stage and the radio for 40 years, “If you can, never follow a DJ or a stripper!”

So true!
